Using the single e on a super powerful mountain bike the performance was excellent until you accidentally blurp the throttle when you land and stretch into a Chan skipping pull at half crank. With over a hundred miles on the chain it worked perfectly until I our road my talent. I’m grabbing three more for the next day I twist it a little too sendy.
Great chain no issues .
This is my second KMC e1 chain. I got 5,000 miles on my first e1 while touring the USA from Minnesota to Maine. I replaced the chain as soon as i hit the 0.75% stretch limit measured using a Park chain stretch gauge. I have another long tour planned this summer and am confident that the e1 will perform well.
I just installed the KMC e1 on my long haul touring bike which has a fixed chainring and sprocket driving a Rohloff internally geared hub. I chose the e1 since it is designed for fixed gear ebikes and would, therefore, be stronger and less suspectable to premature stretch that can occur with chains designed for derailer systems. The e1 will be propelling me and my bike over 2000 miles this summer on a tour of the Great Lakes, Canada, and the northeast US states. We will see how it performs.
