Despite being KMC's entry level 8/7/6 speed chain, it lasts a good long while if you take care of it (I'm comparing vs cheaper brands available from various online stores). It's also longer at 116 links which can be required on certain bikes and drivetrains.
The application was a 1985 Peugeot with period-correct drivetrain, though it wears a Suntour 7-GT rear derailleur of the time with Suntour Perfect 6 speed freewheel, itself an improvement on the OE French parts. The Z8 is not KMC's top line chain, true, but this friction setup now shifts *so much better* compared to the original Sedis chain it replaced. A longer 116 link length was much needed and appreciated.
