Racing the Infamous 1199 Track

Last Sunday, Crankworx Whistler kicked off with the Canadian Open Downhill on the 1199 track, one of the toughest courses on the calendar. This track is known for its big jumps, challenging technical sections, relentless steepness, and considerable length.

With many World Cup riders participating this year, the competition level was exceptionally high, making Tegan and Kye eager to showcase their speed.

Tegan

For qualification Tegan got a great 10th place.

During his race run, Tegan pushed hard but couldn’t quite gain more speed. Nonetheless, he finished with a respectable 13th place.

Kye

The weekend started exceptionally well for Kye, as he secured 3rd place in the qualifications, right behind Dakota Norton.

For his final run, Kye was determined to secure his spot on the podium. Unfortunately, he clipped a tree, resulting in a massive crash.
