Hello Everyone,
We are back racing and back on the podium with Kya A'hern securing his career best finish of 2nd place at the Cannonball Festival DH in Thredbo Australia. The Cannonball has established itself as the biggest Downhill event of the year in Australia and is now an international event with the following premier riders taking the start:
Jackson Goldstone, Laurie Greenland, Amaury Pierron, Jack Moir, Troy Brosnan, Connor Fearon, Luke Meier-Smith, Remy Meier-Smith, and Jackson Frew. For Kye to secure a 2nd place podium it is a very promising start to the season.
Kye A'Hern
Kye, a native Austrailian, know's this track quite well and was up to speed from the start. During qualifications Kye started hot and with a few mistakes managed to secure a 3rd position heading into finals.
For his race run Kye was eager for more, and put down a very good run. IImproving upon his qualie time of nearly 6 seconds, Kye crossed the line in 2nd place just 1 second shy of the win.
We are excited to see this progression and speed from Kye continue into the upcoming World Cup season!
Tegan Cruz
This race hosted many firsts for Tegan. This was his first time racing on this track, first time racing in Elite, and first time racing his new bike so he was managing quite a bit this weekend
For his seeding Tegan had a safe run in 19th position. But in his race run Tegan turned it up a notch and shaved nearly 10 seconds off his qualification time, resulting in a 15th position.
It's a great start for him, dialing in everything on his new bike and getting comfortable as we enter the season.
RedBull Hardline
Nearby, in Tasmania, George Brannigan is getting his laps in on the all new RedBull Tasmania Hardline course. This track is looking mental and is sure to be a very exciting race. Take a look at George's course preview below and cheer him on as he gets between the tape this Saturday.
