Racing In The Southern Hemisphere
The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of racing, travel and all-around good times. Racing season is heating up down south and the team competed in not only the Australian National Champs, but also Crankworx Rotorua.
Austrailian National Champs
The Australian field was very competitive this year and the pressure was on for young Kye A'Hearn to battle it out for the honor of wearing his home nations colors. After putting down a smooth qualification run putting him 6th fastest going into finals Kye stepped it up to improve his time securing 5th place and securing a podium position. Next year he will be back hungry for the top spot.
Next Up It Was Time For Crankworx
On the neighboring island, the rest of the team were gearing up for an eventful Crankworx in Rotarua, New Zealand. First up, newcomer to the team Tegan Cruz, joined George Brannigan for the downhill race in the famous Redwoods forest. Check out their course preview video below.
Tegan Cruz
This race marks Tegan's first event on the team. He managed to put in a smooth run but was just missing a little bit of speed and finished 15th for the day.
George Brannigan
George had a great start out of the gate and held the green for a good portion of the race. It was the final flat section towards the finish that put him in the red just 1 second off the podium leaving him in 6th place.
Dual Slalom
Tegan took on the dual slalom this year managing a great qualification time. In a stacked field Tegan managed to battle it out to the 1/4 final and take home 6th position.
Pump Track
For the final event Tegan was eager to finish on a high note. Under the lights Tegan battled to 4th place getting knocked out by the former pump track world champion. Well done Tegan!
