Crankworx Rotorua 2025
We had both Kye and Tegan at Crankworx Rotorua last week and came away with some strong results and promise but itching for more.
AIR DH
We kicked the week off with Air DH with Tegan with a solid P7 finish and Kye closely behind in P10.
Pump Track
As usual Tegan loves to take part on pumptrack and it's a strong discipline for him with another solid P7 showing against some of the best to do it.
Downhill - Kye
Next up was theKārearea Downhill and Kye has been feeling good on his bike and it showed with a P5 in seeding and only 1.9 off the top spot. The track was fast! But also, there was such a fine line when finding the limit on this track.
Unfortunately Kye found that limit and a bit more in his race run with a huge OTB which put an end to his chances of a podium but we are fortunate he came away unscathed and healthy, ready to keep battling for the rest of the season.
Downhill - Tegan
Tegan was ready to push closer to the podium spot knowing he could after his P3 in Christchurch. A mistake in the top section which caught a lot of riders out on race day had him chasing all the way down and ended up P18 on the day.
Dual Slalom
Dual Slalom was the last event of the week. Tegan got his first elite podium in Dual Slalom at the US Open and backed that up with a P3 in seeding. He made it through to quarter finals finishing P5 and losing out by 0.146 to 3rd place Richie Rude.
Tegan is now sitting 4th at the King of Crankworx overall.
Next up we will be racing the Crankworx Summer Series DH race of Cardrona.
