Asa Vermette Dominates At Whistler!

The full Frameworks Racing/TRP team descended on Whistler for the penultimate World Cup race of the season, and the weekend delivered a performance to remember. Riders faced the notoriously challenging 1199 course, with rain and constantly changing conditions adding another layer of difficulty to an already demanding track. From day to day, the course evolved, requiring precision, adaptability, and confidence from every rider.

Asa Vermette set the tone early, posting the fastest qualifying run in the Elite Men’s field by an impressive 2.5 seconds to secure first position heading into Finals.

With better weather on Finals day but a still-wet and technical course, the competition remained tight. Max Alran initially took the hot seat with a run nearly three seconds ahead of the closely packed field. Then Asa dropped in.

Putting together one of his strongest runs of the season, Asa crossed the line more than four seconds ahead of the field to take the Elite Men’s World Cup victory. The massive Whistler crowd erupted, while Asa’s own reaction captured the significance of the moment. His precise line choices and execution throughout the weekend demonstrated why he has become such a force on the World Cup circuit.

Aaron Gwin Marks 100th World Cup Start

Aaron Gwin advanced through Q2 qualifying in the Elite Men’s field, placing fourth and earning his spot in the Finals. Riding in front of a massive pro-Gwin crowd, Aaron delivered a strong second half of his Finals run to finish 13th.

The result continues Aaron’s consistent form heading into Lake Placid, but Whistler also marked a significant career milestone: his 100th World Cup race. To celebrate the achievement, Aaron Gwin was presented with a special commemorative bike in Whistler.

Strong Performances Across the Team

Anna Newkirk qualified sixth in the Elite Women’s field after navigating the difficult conditions with a strong qualifying run. Her Finals run included a crash that left her gloves saturated with mud, making the remainder of the course particularly challenging. Anna ultimately finished 15th and is healthy, focused, and ready for Lake Placid.

In the Junior Women’s field, Raina Logar delivered one of her best qualifying performances of the season, placing fourth. After a slower start in Finals, she fought back throughout the second half of her run to finish seventh.

Jack McCredie put together his most impressive run of the year to qualify first in the Junior Men’s field. A crash near the top of his Finals run left him dealing with muddy gloves, but Jack continued to push through the remainder of the course to finish 13th.

Zanna Logar had a difficult qualifying run and finished 17th, narrowly missing the Finals.

Mikey Delesalle faced a challenging Q1 run in the Elite Men’s field and was forced into Q2. Unfortunately, another difficult run left him 25th in Q2, keeping him out of Finals.
